I have heard a plea for a new post. When there is nothing to post, I don't post. Apologies thrown at you all. I don't know what you want from me but here it goes.
Here are some girl names I like:
Elizabeth (no shortenings)
Claire
Cynthia (just kidding)
Here are some boy names I like:
Benjamin or Ben
Georg (just kidding)
Kurt is okay...I guess
If you agree or disagree you can tell me, but what the heck. It's hard to think of names I like. That took me like an hour and I could hardly think of any. Man, I hope I never have kids.

those are all very traditional names. I use to like the name Nathaniel...that is until I recieved a nephew named Nathan. I really like Olive for a girl. Beau for a boy. er, I too, hope for few children. This name business is hard.
Well, it's a tough one. I also really like Olive for a girl, but now I have a nephew named oliver, so I don't think I can do that one now. Hmm...all of my previous favorite names have or will eventually have bad associations.
Can I just say that it is much easier to name sons after their grandpops then to name daughters after grandmams? Can you picture a baby named Blanche? I can't.
I also like the name Helen, but I'm not sure if you can get away with naming kids that these days either. probably not.
What about having to think of two names at once? now that is crazy.
I agree Micquel, Olga just wouldn't flow with this new generation.
I haven't really thought of names. Okay, I really have, but I can't think of any right now.
What if I named my son Alec? Would that be weird or is it just me? ha, it actually IS me. I really like the name, and I feel quite shameful that I scratched it, but there is no turning back now I'm afraid. Just think of him having to tell people he was named after his mom - that would be quite the story.
That Blanche baby IS hard to picture. I believe it would have an abundance of wrinkly skin and would never grow teeth.
I've never felt the groove of Olive like you have, Micquel. That's just my opinion.
Keyshaun...is just not happening. I feel awkward just saying it in my head. Sorry Alex.
Ha, having a son named after his mother is a bit odd, I must admit.
The names I like all come from books. I like Helen because of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, and I think I can date my affection for the name Olive to when I read Henry James The Bostonians. I'm just not creative enough to come up with names on my own.
Who is creative enough to come up with names on their own. I suppose they were original at one point but these days when someone tries to be creatively cute the name ends up as a disaster. For example, Sesh. What the heck kind of name is that?
Apple is also one of those "creative" names, I'd say. Just stick with tradition, people, unless you want your child to be mocked. I mean, they're already going to be idiots. I mean...
I think naming your son Alec is a good idea. Quite a GOOD story to tell about how he got the name.
Sometimes I like the name Hally...or even Halley; either spelling works. Not Haley, though. And probably not Holly.
My Grandma names are Ila and Ethel...just so you know. I am a little behind.
Wait, are those your grandmas' actual names or are those the names you think of when you think of a grandma?
Actual Grandmother names.
I'm afraid not, Alex. You're going to have to stop trying with those...cool names.
He actually does have some good ones. Just give him time.
...I'm waiting...
er, maybe I lied. I have one though. Orangejello, phonetic saying: Oh-ran-gell-oh.
I like the names after places and old names for girls. Like Samaria and Abbey or Sariah.
I'm all out of boy names.
